Our Turn

It was our turn to share and politicians' turn to listen.

February 21, 2017

Healthier Colorado held the Facebook live event “Our Turn” to give the people of Colorado the opportunity to speak up and speak out about the impact the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has had on their lives.

We heard dozens of stories from folks across the state, some of whom joined us to be interviewed by Travis Bockenstedt, our anchor during the event.

Cindy Lay highlights that hereditary complications and health conditions are often out of our control.

“I have the same diseases my mother had. I’m 69 and still very healthy because I get good treatment.”

“It [healthcare] is a necessary right.”

Judy Greenfield states her viewpoint on healthcare.

Kim Frederick Law gives a brief account of the difficulties of getting insurance and the fear of uncertainty if the Affordable Care Act is repealed.

“I have no idea what will come up for us…I’m very, very scared.”
