DENVER, CO – Today, Healthier Colorado released the following statement from CEO Jake Williams on the creation of the Governors Public Health Alliance:

“If there’s anything we’ve learned over the past five years, it’s that diseases and other threats to our public health don’t care about state borders. No state can protect the health and well-being of its residents in isolation. Given the rapidly changing and sometimes conflicting information on public health coming from the federal level, the Governors Public Health Alliance is a commonsense solution to ensure state leaders can coordinate, share best practices, and respond quickly to emerging threats and public health emergencies.

Just as public health knows no borders, it also knows no political ideology. When our health is at risk, we need leaders who will put aside partisan differences and work together to identify and implement solutions based on the best information available. We applaud Governor Polis, Lieutenant Governor Primavera, and the 14 other governors for their leadership in developing this coalition and hope to see more states join in the coming days.”
