DENVER, CO – Following this evening’s vote in favor of SB26-131, Healthier Colorado released the following statement:
“Building on strong support in the Senate, tonight’s House committee vote sends a clear message: Coloradans want commonsense guardrails on online sports betting,” said Joshua Ewing, Executive Director of Healthier Colorado. “Calls to our state’s gambling addiction hotline have jumped nearly 50% since legalization, and the harm continues to grow. We’re grateful to House Sponsors Representatives Woodrow and Woog, and to the committee members who listened to the data, the experts, and the Coloradans living with this every day. We urge the full House to act quickly and send this bill to the Governor’s desk before the session ends.”
