Many Coloradans who struggle with behavioral health challenges require a 72-hour mental health hold because they are in danger of harming themselves or others. Unfortunately, state law currently allows these individuals to be placed in jail, despite having committed no crime, if there is no space in their local mental health facility. There is currently a bill in the legislature that is attempting to change this policy. We can’t change it without your help and you have an opportunity to make a difference today.
